Hobart Festival of Women Writers (2016) JP is a featured author.

JP Howard will be one of the featured authors at the Hobart Festival of Women Writers in September 2016. This annual three-day writers Festival is co-founded and curated by authors and sisters, Breena Clarke and Cheryl Clarke! VISIT FESTIVAL WEBSITE HERE! 

JP will be part of a WRITERS CONVERSATION on Sun 9.11.16 from 9:30-11:30am!

In this “Writers Conversation: Why Memoir?”, JP Howard, Dahlma Llanos-Figueroa, and Bessy Reyna will discuss their approaches to facilitating memoir writing, mining memories, and focusing on life’s significant events. JP Howard is a participating author in the inaugural Queens Book Festival!

Come through to the inaugural Queens Book Festival Sunday, Aug 7th at Kaufman Astoria Studios! JP Howard is a participating author. She will be selling copies of her book, SAY/MIRROR (The Operating System) with their new Lambda finalist stickers) around 2pm. JP will be on a panel at 4pm about LGBTQ Representation in the Literary World with some talented writers and at 3pm JP will facilitate an interactive workshop entitled "Curating a Literary Salon: How to Stay in Full Bloom!" It will be a lively community discussion for those who are either currently curating events or those interested in successfully collaborating with a community of diverse creative artists. JP will draw on her past five years experience as nurturer and proud curator of Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon (WWBPS)! Check the QBF site for full listing of events:

The Operating System is a woman/LGBT run small press, arts organization, and online platform/magazine based in Brooklyn NY. They publish 6-10 titles a year, focusing on underrepresented voices, mixed-genre, avant-garde, and politically critical work, as well as on community engagement with process writing and storytelling across creative disciplines. The OS’s mission is to serve as an empowerment engine, transparent in administration and promoting an open source environment in which creative practitioners collect and redistribute intellectual and material resources for community development.

JP Howard, Curator & Nurturer of Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon(WWBPS) invites you to her 5th Annual Summer Salon Series in Sugar Hill, Harlem! This is the first of our three 2016 Summer BBQ Salons! Our Saturday June 25th Salon kicks off our summer BBQ series! This Potluck Garden BBQ Salon & Open Mic features Salon member and dynamic poet Wynne Henry visiting us from California! This is an outdoor Potluck BBQ Garden Salon & Open Mic in a private Garden in Sugar Hill, Harlem so please bring your grill skills and some good food to share! Wynne will lead a collaborative and interactive workshop, give a featured poet reading and we will have a Q & A session with our featured poet!
